Privacy Policy
Effective July 6, 2026
This policy covers the fomo.nyc website and the Fomo NYC mobile apps for iOS and Android. The short version: this is a free, community-built events map. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and it never sells or shares your personal information with anyone.
What we don't collect
- No accounts or sign-ins — we don't collect names, email addresses, or profiles.
- No analytics or advertising — there are no trackers, ad networks, or third-party analytics scripts.
- No cookies are set by the site.
- We never sell, rent, or share personal information.
What is processed, and where it goes
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, and pages requested). We use them only for security and to keep the site running, and they are routinely rotated.
- Feedback you send. If you use the feedback form, we store the message you write, along with your browser type and the page you sent it from, so we can act on it. If you email us instead, we'll have your email address — we use it only to reply.
- On-device storage. The site saves your preferences (such as light/dark theme) and a cache of the public events data on your device so it loads fast and works offline. This data stays on your device; clearing your browser data removes it.
- Map tiles. The map itself is served by Protomaps. When the map loads, your browser requests tile images from their servers, which — like any web request — includes your IP address and the map areas you view. This is the only third-party service the site uses.
The mobile apps
The iOS and Android apps display the same website in a native wrapper. They collect nothing beyond what is described above: no additional permissions, no advertising or analytics SDKs, and no data collection of their own.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we'll update this page and its effective date.
